Newly appointed CEO of Toyota Koji Sato wants more sports cars in Toyota; branded under GR After Toyota’s recent success from their current sports-car lineup including the all-new GR Yaris, 86, Supra, and Corolla rolling out this year, it’s safe to say that current CEO Koji Sato would want more sport-infused automobiles in the future. With the departure of the company’s previous CEO, Akio Toyoda, many speculated if Toyota would create exciting sports cars in the future. Under Toyoda’s direction, iconic sports cars like the GR Supra would not have been revived nor would the 86. After 14 years, Akio decided to leave his position as his vision did not align with the future outlook of the industry as it transitions to EV’s and alternative fuel.
