New 2023 Subaru WRX Rally Car Unveiled: Ready for the American Rally Association

The new 2023 WRX will be built for competition by Vermont SportsCar

Subaru is always going to be a household name pertaining to rally racing and anything else that includes dirt, snow, and mud. Subaru has announced their 2023 WRX production car will be competing in the American Rally Association (ARA) alongside technical partner Vermont SportsCar. The rally car will be featuring a functional body kit and aerodynamical spoiler.

Due to some limitations poised by the ARA, the WRX will be boosting around 320-horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. That sort of power is enough for a car to zip through tough terrain while racing against the clock. In addition, all that power will be coming out of a Subaru 2.0 four-cylinder motor. Paired with the engine, it's unavoidable to not include a sequential transmission in which Subaru has done with this car. The car will have six speed derived from the folks from SADEV transmissions and motorsport technology. Allowing the driver to make quick-witted shifts while maintaining high speeds.

Like all racing cars, the competition WRX will have it's interior stripped, thus improving weight reduction. The rally version will only have a pair of Sparco ADV Prime competition bucket seats and an FIA-approved roll cage to ensure driver safety. The car will be painted in it's traditional blue and gold livery as its early predecessors once wore, carrying on the Subaru rallying spirit.

Spectators and event attendees will be able to see the new 2023 WRX in action on August 24 to the 25th at the Objiwe Forests in Minnesota. The car will be driven by five-time Crankworx Joyride Winner, X-Games Real MTB Gold Medalist, and three-time Red Bull Rampage Winner; Brandon Semenuk. The Canadian native from British Columbia first joined the Rally scene with Subaru Motorsports with the distinguished Travis Pastrana. Who also will be joining in the 2024 season in a second Subaru car. Keaton Williams will continue racing with Subaru as he joins Brandon as his co-driver this season.

Enthusiasts have mixed emotions on Subaru's discontinuation of STI models as the WRX gets a modern facelift and its own competition car. The Levorg which doesn't sell in America still features an STI version and many skeptics have claimed that Subaru might release an STI model in a car with mild-hybridization. Either way, its great that Subaru still gives the motorsport department some attention as their admiration for the sport continues.

The car now named, "Synergy", is supposed to provide drivers a sensational one-seater experience powered by an all-electric powertrain.
