Charger and Challenger Production to End Before the New Year, Dodge says

Final Orders will be submitted before end of July, as production ceases during the holidays

It's been one hell of a run. Dodge has announced that their production of both the Chargers and Challengers will be ending "no later than December 31" of this year. Dealers would need to submit their order forms by the end of July in order to continue to sell out models to customers.

CEO of Dodge, Tim Kuniskis says, "For enthusiasts looking to order a Dodge Challenger or Charger, especially a high-horsepower model, it's truly the last call for the 'Last Call'." He continues "As we transition to an exciting, electrified muscle car future, we're marking the end of an unforgettable era for Dodge, and time is running out for those who want to own a piece of it."

The third-generation Dodge Challenger was revamped in 2008 after its long hiatus from production since the early 1980's as technology improved and the world didn't want big gas-guzzling V8's. However, after making it's comeback since then, it manages to retain its melodic shape and revitalized the use of powerful engines. The Charger was reintroduced into production in 2006 and over the years received many facelifts and power allowing it to be one of the most noticeable sedans ever to hit the road.

For those wanting to purchase a piece of Dodge's now historic vehicles, you can customize your own at Dodge's Horsepower Locator.
